Elegance and Grace

This stil life is an exploration of the power of light and contrast, executed in the highly luminous medium of soft pastel on a dark ground. Drawing inspiration from the dramatic Tenebrist techniques of the Baroque era, I enjoy elevating the beauty of simple subjects-lilies, tulips, and a humble pear - by isolating them in a spotlight of intense color. The velvet darkness of the background serves as a silent amplifier for the brilliant pigments. My focus was on capturing the subtle textures-the reflective glaze of the ceramic jug, the plush folds of the royal blue cloth, and the fleeting softness of the petals. It is a contemplation on luxury, transience, and the enduring beauty found when light breaks through the shadow. It represents the historical, and the present."
