Tenebrosismo

Tenebrosismo is a dramatic soft pastel piece, 16 x 20, rendered on black Canson art board. The dark background allows the rich purples of the blooms and the patina on the vase to pop, creating a striking contrast. The loose strokes and delicate blending techniques used give the piece a sense of softness and depth, adding to its allure. This piece is a narrative. The presence of the grapes suggests a bountiful harvest and the passage of time, while the ornate handles on the vase add a touch of sophistication and history.
